Hi, I’m Angela
Owner of Nurture to Nourish Counselling. I’m a Dietitian and Counsellor, and I’m passionate about helping people deeply transform their relationship with food and their bodies.
Food is so much more than just something that gives us nutrients. Food brings us together, it brings us joy, it brings us pleasure. And all these things are okay.
If you are someone who struggles to feel at ease with your relationship with food and you’d like to be more in-tune with your body, that’s where I come in.
working with me is like…
Each one of my clients is completely unique. My job is to get to know you as a person, and maybe help you explore the role that food plays in your life. With that understanding, we are in a better place to develop individualized strategies that will work for you.
I don’t make meal plans or use a cookie cutter approach with my clients - my intention is to meet you where you are, and support you in a way that is meaningful.
There are so many things that influence our relationship with food - culture, traditions, emotions, trauma, and coping mechanisms.
So often it is unmet needs that hold us back from living the life we want to live and healing our relationship with food. I help clients dive deep and explore all of this safely, so they can get to a place truly nurturing themselves.
I like to think of food as the original social network
trauma-informed nutrition and mental health
So many of us have learned to resourcefully use food to cope with feelings, emotions, and trauma. This leads to a complicated relationship with food and ourselves - on one hand food is something that helps you feel better for a little while, and on the other hand food is also associated with guilt and self-judgment.
But it doesn’t have to be this way - a trauma-informed and nervous-system based approach can help you compassionately understand the role that food serves you emotionally. All this so you move toward making peace with food and your body, and making more space for the stuff that truly matters in your life!
Non-Diet & Intuitive Eating
Many people believe the road to eating well means meal plans and food lists. The non-diet and intuitive eating approaches are different as they help you work with your body’s cues, rather than trying to stick to outside rules on “how to eat”.
